Haay Kuya Kanye what have you done? Teka, kamuka ko ba?
Anyway, Kanye created the latest meme for us to enjoy. The Internet responded so fast that within days, baon na siguro sa limot ang AYBABTU at lolcats. I browsed this site and was truly inspired. I created a local version. Madali lang naman e, I just used this template:
Yo [insert here], I'm really happy for you and I'mma let you finish...but [insert here] has the best [insert here] of all time! OF ALL TIME!
Marge and I were supposed to watch the free Jabbawockeez show yesterday but I got ill. Umaasa na lang ako sa mga ipapalabas na youtube videos. Sayang, iniidolo ko pa naman yun. Minsan naiisip kong sana ganun din ako kagaling. But as I hit back to reality, Im contented with my deuce bigalow moves.
Speaking of dancing, I just discovered that in the three seasons of America's Best Dance Crew, all champion crews had Pinoy members. Saludo! Kung ma-stereotype ang mga Pinoy bilang malulupet na bboys, ayos na ayos lang sa kin.
Still connected to dancing, here's my katukayo band singing "Dancing." I did not understand the lyrics (I was googling but epic fail) but I enjoyed their music. Kapangalan ko e!
January 25, 1933 – August 1, 2009 Took the yoke her husband left and carried it on her own shoulder, making every Filipino proud of the legacy she left behind.
I got no interesting story about me these past couple of months. I did some microblogging just so to have some stuff to post. I decided to promote my friends, who have more interesting stuff happening in their lives than I do.
Uncle Booky's leaving Manila.
Mr. Paul Bookhout is my former Big Boss in Emerson Network Power Shared Services. He did an absolutely amazing job of co-building a very professional Manila office. He did so great, that's why he'll be sent over to Costa Rica and do some groundwork. He's a pretty cool and nice guy.
Uncle B is the M. Thanks to Dom Lambot for the pic.
Marge and I was part of the surprise farewell party for Paul a few hours ago. There's some singing, dancing, and lots of food and booze. We didn't bother to stay long, we just said hi to Paul, ate, took some photos, and disappeared quietly like ninjas. I wish he will take us with him to Costa Rica. Far shot. Anyway, hasta la vista Booky!
Ryan got some amazing photos
My friend and Jedi Design Master Ryan Aguas is currently working as a photographer for a cruise line. He had these wonderful shots during the recent total solar eclipse:
The story behind this was
As the official photographer of m/s Paul Gauguin, I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to capture this rare event as it unfolded in the Pacific ocean. I was tasked to photograph the ship with the solar eclipse in the background -- it was a very challenging mission because I have to take the photos riding a small rescue boat in the middle of the Pacific ocean big with swells and two big cameras around my neck. I just have to say I got lucky to get some great shots and just to be on the boat with the full view of the sea, the sun, and the moon before me. The experience was AMAZING.
Charity Tahmaseb is my colleague in St. Paul. She has a very interesting job on the side. She's the co-author of The Geek Girl's Guide to Cheerleading. It's a milestone for her because 1) it's her first book, 2) she did it while she's being a full-time mother (hardest job in the world) and a technical writer (2nd hardest job in the world).
She gave us colleagues here in Manila complimentary copies, yey! She even signed each of the books. I forgot to mention that she include Marge's name. By the time it got here, the dedication reads, "Tonton... Ready? OK! Enjoy!" It somehow reminded me of that deodorant commercial.
I'm letting wife read it first. By the time she's done, this will be my first time to read a "different" type of novel. But that's ok. I think I can relate, since I used to be a geek (not a girl!) back in high school. And it's really a rare opportunity to know someone (and that someone knows you back) that wrote a book marked with an ISBN!
Nats strip in color!
Nats Payag is also a technical writer. During free time (which rarely happens nowadays), he sketched callcenter boy. Before, the strips used to be... what else, not in color! Nats wanted to give it a fresh look, so there goes the color!
I wish Nats would have more time creating strips. To hell with the job that takes most of his time and impedes his creativity. Good thing he tagged along Job Perez, another technical writer/friend, to put some content on the site. Job's a good choice, he has an unquenchable exuberance for writing. Speaking of Job, he also has one achievement....
Job and friends go professional
Job and friends founded The Professional Commuter Web site. I'm not pretty sure who Job's friends are, but the friend of my friend makes them my friend too. Simply put, it's a site for "Going around Metro Manila in (cheap) style!" They got lots of really good tips there, you'll commute like a pro in no time. The CommutEtiquette section is a highly recommended read for the ignorant minority. Fans are piling up. Be one of us!
Jan hits and misses
Critical man Jan Venturanza has his Marketing H.A.M.S blog site. He frankly speaks his thoughts about some advertising strategies (almost all of them got bad reviews from him). Just to be on the safe side, I won't talk to much for fear of being criticized by my friend. I'll just quote him about the site:
Marketing H.A.M. is a place where we, customers and even Marketing professionals, can discuss anything and everything about the field of Marketing in the Philippines and in other countries as well. In this blog, we’ll put the spotlight on companies, brands, products, ads, agencies, trends, strategies, etc. Absolutely anything and everything Marketing.
I'm just proud of of them. Now when do I get to be a porn star?
